Ramon feliciano
My name is Ramon Feliciano, im from Long Beach California, I enjoy making black and grey and color tattoos. I’ve been tattooing since 2008. as a tattooer in todays world I strive to create unique flavor of traditional art. A solid, crisp clean, bright foundation with memorable imagery makes for a perfect tattoo you can walk around with for life.
I think from a young age I knew I was always going to make tattoos. When I was a kid I would sneak into my brothers room to find cool shit and I would come across these drawings of ships, daggers, pin up girls with their tits out, roses, webs, banners with cool writing in them…I just remember thinking this is so tight, and trying to copy these images at a really young age…then I got to middle school maybe and I would draw on all the kids and teachers would get really pissed at me…”what are you gonna do your just drawing on everybody?”…”I’m be a tattoo artist”, not knowing that would actually come to happen…. One day the security guard was giving me shit about drawing on my classmates and he tells me…why don’t you draw me something out to cover this on my leg…am I’m like yea sure he’s just trying to “guide me in the right direction”….so I draw him this tribal thing to cover his whatever and a week later he comes back and goes “look, I got it tattooed”..i look down at his calf and he’s got the tattoo I drew.. on him…I was shocked….not only did he get it..I could tell as he walked away like he felt like the coolest dude on the planet…I think right there at that moment I knew this was going to work out just fine….that was 7th-8th grade….from then on I think most of my attention went to arts and learning everything I could about my journey ahead…nothing else really mattered except art…when I was 18 I got my apprenticeship and in Victorville CA, and I knew I had a bit of time before anything cool really popped off…we would tattoo and learn the art of mania as well…long nights and long days were to follow for some years….eventually I would come to understand I needed a more potent product if I was to continue this journey the way I wanted to… so I began to look for like minded artists that shared the same sick inthusuiasm towards the world of tattooing as I did… this is when I met Mr. Franky (Frank Ball Jr)…he would let me know there there were a group of tattooers who were just as motivated, little did I know what flood gates this would open..I was impressed to see that yes in fact there were a tier of individuals that cared for this wonder just as I did. after I began working with Frank Ball Jr. at conventions and in the city…it was decided that I would go up to get some tough education by of Californias favorite tattooers, Mr. Britton Mcfetridge….With a reputation of strict principles towards tattooing this would be one of the most exciting excursions I would ever go on..from the ozarks of Arkansas to the islands of Hawaii and everywhere in between…Royal peacock tattoo parlor would shape and refine me to a sharp point of tastful tattooer. I can really appreciate the depth and detail of the experience within those walls and the artists that have called it or call it their home…almost 6 years of refining this craft up north in Sacramento now leads to the adventure set before us today…Fiveball enterprises has proven to be a pillar of success in its Venice beach location as well as its events that send positive shockwaves amongst the community it values. I am happy to be part of such exciting growing community and family. I’m excited to see what the future holds in Southern California and the art we will create.
